THE MOOSE SONG IS TAKING OVER AT MSA! I played it for my house. They started singing it. They got me to do the verses while they did the refrain. Then they voted it our house song. Now we sing everywhere. Even people who aren't in our house are singing it. Each day a new person learns and begins singing the Moose song. It's incredible! And to believe I started this! |

| | happy | ] | Saturday was a lot of fun. Charlie and I went paintballing at Bushwacker's. I didn't get many body shots at all. only 1 bruise and 2 welts. Bummer. Oh well, it was still a lot of fun. My gun broke twice, each time in a different way. Uhhhgh, I may have to get a new gun. Paintball is great. If you haven't tried it you should. You'll either A: Love it, and want to do it again. B: Hate it, and never want to do it again. C: Think people are crazy for doing it at all.
I may be able to go again this Saturday. That would be awesome.

| | My Father's Harp Practice | ] | Another year nearly spent and gone. Tommorrow will make 15 years I have been in the world. Yep, tommorow is my birthday.
What a year it has been! So much change, so many new pleasures, so many sorrows. However, I can definetly say this year has been the best year of my life since second grade. It all started with a new school. Being a Freshman at Metro hasn't been easy, but I've had a lot of fun. New friendships have developed, most notably with Alex, Kenny, and Eric. I managed to pull off a really good gpa, even though It wasn't perfect. Abby and I ended up not being on speaking terms for a week after George W. won the election and I had my other problems early in the year, breaking up with my girl-friend, which was painful, but everyone has that happen to them right?
So that sum's up the first part of the year. But...
On January 8, 2005 my life changed. I attended Renfaire's midwinter ball, and got swept away. I came through the most unusual of circumstances, which I will now relate here. Most of you know Christine, our wonderful dance-mistress at Faire. She is the Aunt of Abby (Yes, the same Abby who has been on my lj a certain amount). Abby was putting together a small group of musicians to play at the ball. I play clarinet, and so she asked me. We ended up unneeded at the ball, but were invited to stay and enjoy ourselves. I had a great time. Marie told me at the ball that I should join the Guild d'Allemand, or the German guild. She said that the guild needed more men (Sounded darn good to me). So my father and I came to the Non-profit center on open house day, and signed up to be in the german guild.
I want to thank you Abby, for introducing me to Faire and all the wonderful experiecnces and friends that come with it.
Faire has been a great thing for me. I love it, and I can't wait for next season. I've made so many new friends, too many to list here as I'm sure to forget someone. I hope that everybody comes back next year. Another benefit of faire is all the time I've gotten to spend with my father. We really have become closer, and it's been great to have all the long talks with him in car as we drove to and from site. I wish I could do more faire-stuff between now and February, and I hope to stay in touch with all my friends.
I've had my share of troubles, problems, and sorrows, most recently the terrible bombings in London. It's important to remember our mistakes, and all the tragedies that happen in our lives. But it's also important not to dwell on them. Honor those who have passed on, continue to fight for what we believe is right in the world, and whatever happens try to stay happy and not lose sight of our goals for ourselves, our friends, and the world.
Thank you for making this year a wonderful one.

| | happy | ] | Wow, what a great two days. Yesterday was marvelous. A whole bunch of rennies went to the city museum. I caught a ride with Kelsey, and proceeded to get us lost trying to find the place. We finally got there, and met up with the other rennies. It was insane! We did so much and it was so fun. Connie, Alyssa (Faire not school), Ashley and I all broke off from the main group and went to find the really big slide. After cralling through part of the enchanted caves and getting directions from an employee we climbed up two or three flights of stairs to get to the top of the slide. The lights up there were burned out, which made climbing the stairs...interesting. We went down the slide a couple times, then decided to do something stupid, crazy, and insanely fun. We all went down at the same time, with lightest to heaviest being the order. I was the lightest (why is it always me?), then Ashley and Alyssa didn't know who weighed less so they played rock-paper-scissors to decide. Ashley ended up behind me, then Alyssa, then Connie. We started down the slide. Now this slide was a big spiral so I ended up smooshed against the wall of the slide, and I grabbed onto Allysa's sandal, and ended up pulling it off, then grabbed Ashley's leg. Ashley grabbed Alyssa's leg, and we lost Connie. We got down to the bottom a little banged up, but very amused. The general consensus though, was not to do it again. I got to go on Monstrosity for the first time! I got buried in the ball pit, and ended up with my feet sticking out of the balls, and the rest of me stuck underneath. Later eight of us went in the ball pit and had a rennie take over! We just started hitting everybody who wasn't a rennie! We were eventually defeated, but it was still a lot of fun. I was also really happy to see Jason (Cosmographer) there. We went to the skatepark area, and played around. One of Jason's friends got the front page story of the West End Word! How cool is that! One of the belly-dancers from Circus Flora performed in the pit area near the Cabin. I think she was the one who played the Lady of the Mists' beautiful silent daughter. There was this Ass hole there who started doing obscene dance stuff to her, and we were joking about going over and kicking his ass. Kate is very nice. I hope she can learn to belly dance someday, since she seems to really like it. She knew more about it than me, that's for sure. Mike took me home. I got back around 12:40.
Today was really cool too. My dad and I garbed up and joined the rest of the rennies marching in the VP parade downtown. I had a great time. Ashley was there and she was doing fey. She seemed to have such a good time I fear we may lose her to them. As long as she's still having fun with faire. I can always go into the forest and mess with the fairies after all. Wait I mean, I can go into the forest where *Yells* "FAIRIES DON'T EXIST!!!" :) After the parade a bunch of us went to Union station for lunch. I love all the wierd looks we get. It was very funny to have half a marching unit of garbed rennies walking through Union Station.
Faire has to be one of the most wonderful things that has happened to me in a long time. Thank you so much Abby for inadvertantly introducing me to so many good times and friends.
BTW: Check out my previous post for a good laugh! |
